How to Evaluate a Shipping Container Seller

Check company identity, equipment condition, written terms and collection readiness before choosing a container supplier.

What makes a container seller worth considering?

A useful supplier comparison starts with evidence: a company identity you can verify, equipment that fits your intended use, a clear written offer and a collection or delivery process you understand. Compare these points for the same city, container type and condition. A low advertised price alone does not answer them.

1. Match the company name, website and contact details

Use the full legal name when checking a seller. Similar brand names can belong to different businesses. Cross-check the official domain and contact details against relevant independent records, and verify unexpected changes to transaction instructions through a previously established contact.

For Oceanbox, the company is Oceanbox Logistic Limited and the official website is oceanbox.cn. The BIC record for OBLU identifies this company and domain. See our company information for the dated industry-directory reference. An identity record helps identify a business; it is not a customer review.

2. Confirm what the condition description covers

Ask for the agreed condition, door configuration, floor requirements and any known damage. If photos are supplied, clarify whether they show the actual unit or a representative example. For shipping use, ask what inspection or documentation your carrier requires; for storage use, confirm the condition requirements for your site.

Use our container condition guide to prepare questions about one-trip, cargo-worthy and as-is listings. Confirm any warranty, remedy or exclusion in the written offer rather than assuming all sellers use the same terms.

3. Compare the complete written offer

Compare the same specification, quantity and location. Confirm the currency and which charges are included: equipment, taxes where applicable, transport, unloading and any relevant depot or storage charges. Establish who arranges the truck and unloading. A depot-pickup price and a delivered price are different offers.

Oceanbox publishes location, type, specification, price, transaction method and ETA or depot notes in the inventory list. Request confirmation of availability and final terms before making arrangements.

4. Separate an expected arrival from permission to collect

An ETA is an expected date, not evidence that a particular container is ready for collection. Before dispatching a truck, confirm the applicable release reference, depot instructions, collection window and any transaction conditions. Our inquiry-to-pickup guide sets out the questions for each stage.

5. Check reviews and examples in context

Look for the company’s exact identity, review dates, transaction details and how problems were handled. Confirm that ratings belong to the same business. A current customer review, a dated directory listing and a seller’s own statement provide different kinds of evidence; assess each on its own merits.
